The intent of this dictionary app is toprovideinformation which will inspire individuals to study andlearn theIñupiaq language. Because the structure of the Iñupiaqlanguage isvery different from English, there is not necessarilyaword-for-word correspondence. This dictionary app is a resourcetofoster understanding of Iñupiaq words but it isinherentlyessential for any student of any language to learn thegrammar ofthe language they are studying.This app was made possible through a partnership betweentheNorth Slope Borough Iñupiat Heritage Center and the UniversityofAlaska Fairbanks. The app would have not been achievablewithoutfinancial support from the ECHO grant and all those thathaveworked diligently on the Iñupiaq dictionary over the years.Thecontents of this application were developed under a grant fortheDepartment of Education. However, those contents do notnecessarilyrepresent the policy of the Department of Education andyou shouldnot assume endorsement by the Federal Government.
